Interesting thread to which I responded on the Star message board regarding the use of Burns in the lead of the tragic story of an apparent homicide.

Thanks for the post Skip. I do think that Burns has gotten a bad rap in recent months. I also know that some people were misquoted and some of the stories were misleading and misinforming the public. I do, however, appreciate your willingness to publish some of the letters from those who were offended by the implications. It's just a shame they felt a need to write them in the first place. We need to be building up our students, teachers and administrators across Cleveland County, not tearing them down. If it's newsworthy, so be it. But reporters need to stick to the facts and report from all sides, not jump on the loudest protestor's bandwagon.
