Just got a report of moderate to heavy snow in Gaffney -- I believe this is the band that will graduate us beyond flurries to some real snow -- temps are dropping across the county, evident that the column is being saturated and all the precip can start making it to the ground.
I expect (gulp) that by 1. a.m. at least the southern locations of Cleveland County will some decent snowfall.
Famous last words? We shall see.
Keep those reports coming! If you're going to make fun of us snow lovers, you're comments will have a short life.

its boiling springs again and it is ALMOST what you would call moderate.....
I hope so. Snow brings out the kid, still hidden somewhere inside. Very light flurries again in Brittain Village.
Light flurries west of uptown Shelby out by the library.
Isn't it past your bedtime old man Skip? (HA!) I'm off work tomorrow, so I may stay up a greet the snow shortly before retiring.
In Cherryville at the Gaston County Line, we have light flurries. It keeps changing back and fourth to little to light. Been going on for about 1 hour...
no snow here, you expect schools to be in tomorrow skip?
Brittain Village( south Shelby ) Snow picking up, not even sticking on the cars. Temp 34 .
I would expect no school tomorrow, but you never know.
It's snowing over near the mall at Caleb road, for the first time this evening
It's really amazing -- snow in Belmont/Charlotte/Rutherfordton has an inch, now snowing in Hickory -- ALL SIDES!!!!!!!
I just took a look at the NWS radar. There's this little split in the activity. Southern & northern parts of the county are getting the "green" & there's less in the center. Interesting, huh? Can't wait to see how it plays out.
Looks to me like a decent band will soon move in here from Spartanburg.....
boiling springs again and if it keeps this up then skips 5 or 6 inch accumulation should be right on the money!!! cars are completely white and ground is gettin that way FAST
Send that B. Springs snow up to Shelby!!!!
Update from the center of the universe....Grover. Coming down pretty good here. Patio out back is wet, table has a little on it.
Brittain Village - 32 and the snow has all but stopped again. Heavier precip seems to fizzle out at the State line. Do we live in the Twilight Zone?
Lattimore update: Temp is now 31.8, and it is still snowing. It's not laying on the ground yet, but is just starting to stick to the deck and metal surfaces !
I've got about a quarter of an inch on the Jeep in Lawndale...
leave off charles road and haven't seen snow yet
You there on Charles Rd need to turn on a flood light and look into it... I can't see any snow from my front porch, but when I look out back at the flood light, I see plenty.
The news said the pavement temps would not get below freezing and the roads would be fine for the entire viewing area. Whats up with that?
UP here by BMS putting it down good. No way they have school tomorrow.
Just read the forecast discussion on the Greenville/Spartanburg NWS page and they say we may see a quick inch of snow before changing to rain. Looks like it may be a bust. I just wanna see SNOW !!!
your right, i went outside and looked at Street Light, its starting to come down off charles road!!!
In south Shelby near number three elementary school were having moderate snow and big flakes!!!
I live off Charles Road in Brittain Village and have a street light and its barely snowing.
How much snow you think were gonna get Skip
Ground is starting to turn white on New Prospect Ch. Rd. Near Challanger 3 golf course.
HUGE Flakes down here in south shelby my cats are outside chasing the flakes!!! : )
30 degrees and coming down heavier than before. Seems like the flakes are bigger everytime I look out
FINALLY......starting to cover the ground in Lattimore. Temp holding steady at 30.1.
GOOD CALL SKIP
Briitain Village - Still snowing but not sticking except in patches and not at all on cars. With the size of the flakes an inc or 2 at best, I think at this point.
